Well, here is my progress on "Walking to Town". I have finished all of the regular stitching, except for one small part (if you look REALLY hard you can probably see it, it's in the bottom right corner area, right below the second row of the fence) where I ran out of the floss. It's been a little frustrating, it's the third time I've run out of floss. I don't THINK I'm wasteful when I stitch, and I keep barely running out, but still!!! And Dimensions has been good about sending me more, so I can't complain too much. Now it's on to back stitching and beading. It calls for French knots for snowflakes, but I can't do them...so rather than aggravating myself, I'm going with beads.
And I completed another week on Angel of Cross Stitch. It's coming along pretty well. Now it will be a few weeks before I pick it up again. Today starts my one day a week SAL (well, I'm stitching one day a week, don't know what anyone else is doing) on the Monopoly board. I got my fabric Thursday. I think it's about as close to perfect color wise as I was going to find. It's a light seafoam green aida. I think it should be a fun stitch!
Oh well, that's it for me - hope everyone has a great week!!!

5 O'clock Somewhere Update
Well, here is my latest and greatest update on "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere". I have finished everything involving the drinks (except the little wine charm things at the bottom of each glass). When it next pops up in the rotation, I will be working on the lettering at the bottom (which is outlined and then beaded, so it should be kind of cool). It's hard to see in the picture, but the rim of the margarita glass (on the right) and the end of the toothpick for the olives are both stitched with "Fuzzy Stuff" (I think that's what it's called). It's this floss that is, as it says, fuzzy. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it is pretty cool. Also, the seeds in the strawberry are black beads, for some added texture.
I'm a bit disappointed - I didn't figure out the fabric I needed for this, I let the person who was taking care of me at my LNS figure it, and I feel like the fabric was cut too small. Since I'm making it again (one each for two of my best friends), I went back Saturday and bought another piece of fabric that is bigger. You can see (which I'm thinking will go away soon enough) the hoop marks on here, and that was because it got so close to the end that I couldn't use my Q-snaps....
I'm getting ready to start my Monopoly Board SAL. I will have to figure out how I'm going to work THAT into my rotation. I may keep my three current projects in a weekly rotation, and just do the Monopoly board one day a week. So I'll do a week minus a day on each of my other projects, and one day a week on Monopoly. I don't think I'm ready to lose a full week of my rotation, if that makes any sense.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Fractal Update
Well, I stitched for another week on my fractal bookmark. I'm almost done with page 1. Not looking too bad...Now it's back to "5:00 Somewhere"...it feels like it's been ages since I stitched on that one!!! LOL

Angel of Cross Stitch
Well, after two weeks in the rotation, I thought I might have gotten more done on Angel...but the reason for the two weeks was because of a four day weekend in Vegas, which of course, cost me stitching time! Add to it the fact that I brought a miserable cold back from Vegas, and spent a day and a half sleeping....and alas, not as much progress as I would have liked. But hey, this is for fun, not for stress, right??
Now it's back to the fractal bookmark for a week. I am really enjoying my rotation process, just because I kind of get enthusiastic all over again when it's time to pull a project out!
Also, on a kind of exciting front, I joined a Yahoo group a couple of weeks ago that's (mostly) Southern California stitchers. We're planning a get together in a couple of weeks, and that should be a lot of fun. It will be fun to have faces to put with names, and to hook up with some other local people who like to stitch!
Thanks for looking!

2 Quick Progress Updates
Well, I got busy last week and never posted my progress on my fractal. So...there's my fractal which was in the rotation for the week BEFORE the one that just ended. The other picture is my progress on "It's 5:00 Somewhere". Even though 5:00 Somewhere isn't exactly a Christmas picture, I am doing it (twice!) for Christmas gifts, so I worked on it during my Christmas week in my rotation. Now it's back to Angel of Cross Stitch. I will probably keep that one on the front burner for two weeks - since we head for Vegas Friday - Monday, there won't be any stitching done this weekend coming up!!!
Thanks for checking out my blog... I'll try to be better about posting weekly!

Angel of Cross Stitch progress
Latest and greatest progress on Angel of Cross Stitch! Now it's on to a week of the freebie fractal for the month. I'm liking this rotation plan, keeps me from getting bored with any one project. I did go to my LNS and buy some new fabric for Frederick the Literate (which will be my next lunch time project after I finish my Walking to Town) and also the supplies (floss, fabric, and charms) for my TWO copies of "It's 5:00 somewhere" that I'm making for two good friends.

Walking to Town Progress
Well, here is my "work" project....my lunchtime sanity break is stitching on this. It's coming along quite nicely (if I do say so myself) although not as quickly as I would like. I look at my pictures, and I HAVE made substantial progress, it just takes a while because it's only an hour a day, five days a week (at most....).
When it's done, my next work project will probably be Frederick the Literate. It's a Dimensions kit, but I think I'll trade the fabric out. It's 14 count black aida, and I don't necessarily like aida (although this one is on aida, it was before I tried other fabrics), plus I'm not overly fond of 14 count...I like 18 count better. So, I'm off to calculate the difference in fabric saize and get some better black fabric. That may be tomorrow's project...now that I've found a LNS. (hmmmm....when you use initials that kind of start with a vowel sound...."ell".....would be "an LNS" or is it "a LNS" because it would be "a local needlework shop"......such dilemmas!).
Anyway, thanks for checking out my blog. Hopefully Sunday evening I'll post my week's progress on Angel of Cross Stitch.
